Learning for All! Whatever it Takes!!
Kenilworth Elementary School currently has 257 students enrolled in grades Head Start through Sixth Grade. The school is currently implementing various strategies to improve student achievement which include:
On February 22, Kenilworth will hold its First Family Support Day from 4 to 7pm, which will be inclusive of a range of governmental, community, and private agencies that provide services and assistance to families. We are asking the community for support in the following areas: Contacts with agencies that help families, donations from businesses for incentives to bring out as many parents as possible, volunteers that can help ensure a successful event (child care services, greeters, hosts, information providers, etc.), and people who can help spread the word to families in this community. We are definitely in a time where “It takes a village to raise a child!!” Kenilworth Elementary School will appreciate any assistance we can get from the community.
The Civic Association of Eastland Gardens, through Ms. Carole Allen, provided clothes and gifts to a family of Kenilworth Elementary School for Christmas. Additionally, Ms. Dorothy Douglas, one of the ANC representatives in the community provided two gift cards to the school which purchased clothes and toys to two families at Kenilworth Elementary School for Christmas. These two generous gifts enabled 3 families to have a wonderful Christmas. The families and I want to thank you so much for supporting us and showing that we are community trying to make things better for everyone.
