Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) Teen Nights are planned for young adults to include a variety of fun, educational and engaging activities which include everything from sports, movie nights, fashion shows, poetry slams, Go-Go concerts, dance nights, go-kart racing, karaoke, and participating in life skills workshops. All DPR Teen Nights are supported by the American Lung Association of the District of Columbia, which has partnered with DPR as part of their DC Tobacco Free Families Campaign.
As DPR Teen Nights end at 12 midnight, and District curfew is in effect from 12:01 am to 6 am, DPR and the DC Metropolitan Police Department are working together to give youth an opportunity to identify themselves as DPR Teen Night participants and this year DPR will require the use of a valid DC One Card for admission to a DPR Teen Night.
Teens wishing to attend a DPR Teen Night but do not have a valid DC One Card, may obtain one at any DPR Teen Night location, even on the night of the event, or prior to the event at any other location issuing the DC One Card. DPR is also pursuing additional methods of identifying DPR Teen Night participants such as hand stamps and wrist bands.
For more information contact the DPR Office of Teen Programs at (202) 671-0451.
Beginning Friday, April 3 and continuing every Friday through September 25, DPR Teen Nights will be held at select DPR Centers.
